Advertising in CN
The Catholic News is a tabloid-sized newspaper published fortnightly. We are quite selective in our acceptance of advertisements. Advertisements must not display in text, photos, or graphics, any medical or health-related products or services. Financial planning or advisors, maid and adoption agencies are also not accepted.
If you are unsure if your advertisement will be accepted, please consult us. It is best to send the sample of the proposed advertisement copy for approval before booking space for the advertisement.
Technical specifications
Size: Tabloid size newspaper, full colour, 26cm width x 35cm length
Columns: The maximum width is 5 columns. Each column is 4.8cm.
Please note the following for column width.
1 column width is 4.8cm.
2 columns width is 10.0cm.
3 columns width is 15.5cm.
(Because of our current layout, we cannot accept 4-column width advertisements.)
5 columns width is 26cm.
The maximum length of advertisements is 35cm.
All artwork must be submitted in digital form: CMYK PDF: jpeg or tiff file format via email or CD. Please note that all fonts and graphics must be embedded in the artwork.
Printing by Times Printers on 4-colour web press, CTP.
Advertising costs
1. Regardless of colour or monochrome (black/white), the rate of the advertisement is S$9.00 per column per centimeter.
2. The maximum width is 5 columns (26cm).
3. A full page advertisement is 5 columns x 26cm (width) x 35cm (length).
(Cost of a full page advertisement is 5 columns x 35cm x $9 = $1,575/-.
4. The rate is $10 per column per centimeter on the back page.
(Cost of a full back page advertisement is 5 columns x 35 cm x $10/ = $1,750/-
5. Typesetting charges are 15% of total advertisement charges.
6. *For Special Christmas issue, the rate is $11 per column (inner page) and $13 (back page)
7. Minimum cost per advertisement is $54/-.
For first-time advertisers, here is a sample size and cost of the advertisement.
For the price of $54/-, you can take:
i) a horizontal layout of 10 cm (2-columns width) from left to right and 3 cm from top to bottom,
OR
ii) a vertical layout of 4.8 cm (1 column width) from left to right and 6cm from top to bottom.

- Please note that all bookings of advertisements/articles/photos for publication must be submitted via email, or softcopy, at least three (3) weeks before date of sales. Our office is closed on weekends (Sat and Sun) and public holidays.
- Upon confirmation of advertisement, please make payment so that we can proceed to the printing of the advertisement.
